Lunar New Year
February 6, 10AM-1PM, Ages 8-13
Service Description
Every dish on the Lunar New Year table tells a story. Dumplings folded just so bring wealth and good fortune. A bowl of tteokguk - Korean rice cake soup - means you've earned another year. And tang yuan, those silky glutinous rice balls filled with black sesame, represent family, wholeness and sweetness in the year ahead. In this class, young chefs will fold and pleat jiaozi from scratch, simmer a delicate tteokguk, and roll tang yuan by hand — watching them float to the surface when they're ready, the oldest signal in the kitchen that something good is about to happen. This is cooking with meaning. Year of the Goat, 2027. On the menu: Jiaozi Tteokguk Tang yuan
