Kids Cooking & Baking Workshops

Where Mistakes Become Magic!

100% Hands-On

Kids don’t stand back and watch.

They chop, mix, measure, cook, taste, and take part from beginning to end - three screen-free hours of learning by doing.

Real Skills. Real Trust.

Children work with real tools and learn real techniques in a safe, supportive kitchen. They’re given meaningful responsibility, clear guidance, and the independence to discover what they can do.

More Than a Meal

Kids leave with delicious food, practical skills, and genuine pride in what they created. Along the way, they build confidence, creativity, connection, and the ability to solve problems when things don’t go as planned.

What People Are Saying

My son had taken cooking classes elsewhere and was disappointed that they weren’t truly hands-on. This was a completely different experience. He loved the class, said it was all hands-on and they did everything themselves. He was excited about what he learned and made and asked to sign up for more.

My daughter was beyond thrilled she used a chefs knife in class. I don't let her at home. I am grateful she came home having learned beginning knife skills and feeling proud of what she accomplished.

M.S.

I was initially unsure whether my child would stay engaged for a three hour class. I didn’t need to worry. He was completely absorbed, came home energized, and immediately asked to register for another class and cook for us

J.C.

We’ve been taking classes with Melanie for years, and we don’t take cooking classes anywhere else. My kids are always learning something new - not just about cooking, but about themselves and the world around them. I love hearing about the conversations that took place in class almost as much as hearing about what they made.

Upcoming Classes

Why kids should experience cooking

What They'll Learn

These hands-on, immersive experiences inspire kids to cook with curiosity and confidence, engaging all their senses as they explore the kitchen.

Students will learn essential skills such as kitchen safety, knife handling, cooking techniques, selecting fresh produce, reading recipes, and even table setting and etiquette.

By learning to trust their intuition, they’ll begin to develop the skills to cook creatively and confidently—even without recipes.

Bonus Skills

As a licensed culinary arts teacher with 30 years of experience, I design classes that seamlessly weave math, reading, critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity into the essential life skill of cooking—all while ensuring students have fun!

Our goal is to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and nurture creativity and calm in the kitchen.

Through the shared joy of food, students also learn the value of collaboration and connection with their peers, making every class a meaningful and enriching experience.
