The Patience of Braising
January 12, 10AM-12:30PM
Service Description
Braising is the ultimate winter skill. It’s a lesson in patience—taking simple ingredients and turning them into something rich and restorative with little more than time and a low heat. This class is about the intuition of a slow simmer: knowing how to tell when the meat is perfectly tender and how to finish a dish so it feels balanced, bright, and deeply satisfying. We’ll apply that same steady heat to our vegetables and dessert, showing how a slow simmer can turn a firm leek or a winter pear into something tender and concentrated. You'll leave understanding how to build deep flavor in a single pot. Menu: Braised Chicken Thighs: Learning the timing of a slow simmer so the chicken is tender every time. Braised Leeks: Letting the heat do the work to soften a simple winter vegetable. Stewed Pears with Rosemary: A dessert that shows how a slow simmer can deepen the flavor of winter fruit.
