Students in Fairfield whipped up a unique assignment Wednesday.

Fairfield Ludlowe High School students created a tasting menu for district representatives and partners at the school's on-campus restaurant, Falcon's Nest.

Students showed off culinary skills they learned from the food services course taught by Ludlowe teacher and chef, Melanie Underwood.

The course teaches them how to work with customers and cook a wide variety of food.

"So, what we do here in food services is that we build out different menus weekly, and then we send that to the teachers, and they order food, and we actually prepare food. So, it's a self-sustaining restaurant for Fairfield Ludlowe High School," said Melanie Karmazin, teacher and chef.

The lunch celebrated the partnership with Fairfield Public Schools and the Whitsons Culinary Group.
